By creating an account, purchasing a one-time scan, subscribing, uploading a contract, or otherwise using the Dang service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy.
If you create an account, you confirm acceptance at signup using the checkbox next to "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy." If you upload a contract without creating an account (the free preview flow), you accept these Terms by your use of the service.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Dang service.
To use Dang, you confirm that:
If you create an account:
Dang is a software service that uses AI (Anthropic's Claude API) to read contracts you upload and produce a plain-English risk report. The service includes a free preview tier (limited findings, browser-session-only), a one-time paid scan, and two subscription tiers: Plus and Pro. See Section 7 for payment terms.
Using Dang does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Dang Apps LLC, between you and any Dang employee, contractor, or representative, or between you and any third party. Information you share with Dang — including the contracts you upload — is not protected by attorney-client privilege, work-product doctrine, or any similar legal protection.
AI analysis is imperfect. Reports may miss issues, contain inaccuracies, or surface false positives. We tell you the risks we found, but we don't catch everything. You are responsible for your own decisions about the contracts you sign or rely on.
The free preview is provided as-is, without availability or accuracy commitments. Paid offerings carry the additional commitments described in the relevant pricing page and these Terms, but we do not commit to any specific uptime SLA for v1.0.
By uploading a contract or other document to Dang, you:
You retain ownership of your uploaded documents. Dang does not claim ownership of your contracts.
As described in Section 7 of our Privacy Policy, Dang uses Anthropic's Claude API to perform contract analysis. Anthropic acts as a data processor on Dang's behalf. Anthropic's standard retention is up to 30 days, with an exception of up to 2 years for content flagged for Usage Policy violations.
Anthropic does not use API customer data — including your contracts — to train its AI models under their Commercial Terms.
Reports are produced by automated processing. No human at Dang reads your contract by default. We may review specific contracts only for investigating abuse reports, complying with legal requests, or addressing a support issue you raise.
Because AI analysis can affect significant legal or financial decisions, you should not rely on the service alone for high-stakes matters such as eviction or lockout disputes, termination from employment, a home purchase or sale, major business commitments, pending litigation, or other disputes that could materially affect your rights or finances.
Web payments are processed by Stripe. iOS in-app purchases (when the iOS app is available) are processed by Apple. By making a purchase, you also agree to the relevant payment processor's terms with respect to your payment method. Dang does not store full payment card numbers — only limited transaction metadata such as the amount, date, and the processor's transaction and customer identifiers.
Pricing in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
A one-time paid scan is a single-purchase product. Once payment completes and the scan is delivered, the purchase is final, subject to Section 7.4 (Refunds).
Dang offers two subscription tiers: Plus at $14.99 per month and Pro at $29.99 per month. Subscriptions are paid in advance. Plus and Pro include the features described on our pricing page in effect at the time of your subscription.
Each subscription tier includes a monthly scan allowance — 5 scans per month on Plus and 10 scans per month on Pro — that resets at the start of each billing period. Once you have used your monthly allowance, additional scans are unavailable until the allowance resets at your next billing period.
Dang reserves the right to change subscription prices and features, but any price change for an existing subscriber will not take effect until at least 30 days after we notify you and, where required by law, after you affirmatively consent to the change.
This auto-renewal disclosure is provided in compliance with the California Automatic Renewal Law (California Business and Professions Code §§ 17600 et seq.) and similar laws in other jurisdictions. We:
Managing your subscription. You manage and cancel your subscription through Stripe's billing portal, which you can open from your account. If a renewal payment fails, your subscription may be marked past due and access to subscription features may be paused or limited until the payment issue is resolved.
Not satisfied, or the report didn't work as expected? Email support@dangcontracts.com within 14 days of your purchase and we'll review your request.
One-time scans are refunded if the analysis failed, was unusable, or analyzed the wrong document. For subscriptions, you can cancel anytime and keep access through the period you have already paid for; we review refund requests for the current billing cycle on a case-by-case basis. We may also offer refunds, credits, or a re-run where we determine it is appropriate.
For subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store (iOS), refunds are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies. See Section 8.
Saved reports are retained according to your plan: one-time paid scans for 30 days, Plus for 6 months, and Pro for 12 months. Anonymous free-preview reports are deleted within 7 days. After the applicable period, a saved report and the contract text retained with it are permanently deleted. See Section 10 of our Privacy Policy for details.
When the Dang iOS app is available, subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store are billed by Apple, not by Dang. The following rules apply to those purchases:
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and we may report illegal activity (including CSAM) to law enforcement and other relevant authorities as required by law.
Dang owns all intellectual property in the Dang service — including software, design, branding, content, and trademarks — except as expressly licensed below. "Dang!" and the Dang logo are trademarks of Dang Apps LLC.
Your uploads: you own your uploaded documents. You grant Dang the limited license described in Section 5.
Your reports: the analysis report Dang produces for you is for your own use. You may save it, print it, share it with your attorney or counterparty, and refer back to it for as long as you have access to it under our retention schedule. You may not resell, redistribute commercially, or use Dang reports to build a competing analysis service.
Dang is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dang Apps LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or trade usage.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, complete, or secure. AI analysis may miss issues or contain inaccuracies, and you use the service at your own risk for any decisions you make based on Dang reports.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Dang Apps LLC, its officers, members, employees, agents, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages — including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business opportunity, or loss of goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Dang service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Dang Apps LLC's total cumulative liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or in connection with the Dang service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Dang in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100.00).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, in which case some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including liability for fraud or gross negligence under Florida law).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dang Apps LLC, its officers, members, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any third-party claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
We may, at our option, assume the exclusive defense of any matter for which you owe us indemnification, and you will cooperate as we reasonably request.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of Dang are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Federal laws of the United States also apply where applicable.
Venue: Except for small-claims matters described below, you and Dang agree that any dispute must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida. You and Dang each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Small claims carve-out: Either party may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court of competent jurisdiction so long as the claim is within that court's jurisdictional limits.
We may update these Terms when our practices change or when laws require it. The notification mechanism mirrors what is described in Section 17 of our Privacy Policy:
If you do not agree to a material change, your remedy is to stop using Dang and, if you have an account, to cancel and request deletion under Section 16 of the Privacy Policy.
You may stop using Dang and delete your account at any time, per Section 16 of our Privacy Policy. When you have used Sign in with Apple and that integration is available in Dang, we will revoke the Sign in with Apple authorization as part of the account deletion process.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Dang, with or without notice, if:
Where we terminate for reasons within our control and not for cause, we will provide reasonable notice. The following sections survive termination: 5 (your uploads — to the extent of any continuing license to retained data), 10 (Intellectual property), 11 (Disclaimers), 12 (Limitation of liability), 13 (Indemnification), 14 (Governing law and dispute resolution), and 17 (Miscellaneous).
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any policies referenced in either, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dang Apps LLC regarding the Dang service.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms or any rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or by operation of law.
Notices. We may give notice to you by email to the address associated with your account, by posting on our website, or by in-product notification. You may give us notice by emailing support@dangcontracts.com for general support, privacy@dangcontracts.com for privacy matters, or legal@dangcontracts.com for formal legal notices.
Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Relationship of the parties. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Dang.
